Oxford Innovation

Oxford Innovation is a "spin-off" from The Oxford Trust, a charitable foundation that works "to encourage the study and application of science and technology". Oxford Innovation and its former parent, The Oxford Trust, have over seventeen years of experience in encouraging innovation, stimulating local economies and providing services to facilitate the successful exploitation of innovative technologies.

Approximately half of Oxford Innovation's income comes from consultancy, project management and networking activities that are linked to the development of the knowledge-based economy. The remainder comes from the management of innovation centres (currently the company provides accommodation for over 250 incubating companies).

Oxford Innovation has an extensive experience in the TT process, including conducting technology audits for Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in the UK as part of a Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Programme. Through this work, it achieved an excellent reputation for forming good working relationships with researchers, identifying opportunities (licensing, spin-out) for commercial exploitation, and recommending practical ways for HEIs to generate income from their available technology, equipment and expertise. It has also provided consultancy services to universities and research institutes as part of the DTI Focus Technical Programme. In projects for the DTI and the Office of Science and Technology, it analysed the entry data for two competitions and in doing so identified 'best practices' in the 'Facilitation of TT and in 'Industry-Academe Collaboration'. It has also received funding from the DTI - BEP - Programme for DiagnOx, a project to identify and exploit new diagnostics technologies.

Oxford Innovation contributes to developing the logical framework and the training materials, to carry out the testing phase and to valorisation and dissemination of project's results at national and European level. It coordinates the third meeting.
