Goals

The project aim is to develop a vocational training opportunity related to "IPR and licensing management" in order to support training activities both within a Technology Transfer organisation and for SMEs personnel.

Although Europe has an excellent scientific base, it seems less well placed than its main competitors because it has been less successful than other regions of the world at converting its skills into new products and market share, especially in high-technology sectors. Thus, it seems important to develop high quality training material on the topic of "IPR and Licensing Management". In particular, the project will provide:

  • a clear definition of the professional, in line with the current and different needs at European level;
  • a training module and a delivery methodology that integrates different learning paradigms and it will take into account models and practices for quality assurance (such as self-evaluation approaches but also learning groups and trans-national virtual study circles and a defined core of quality indicators);
  • a specific tool in order to allow a transparent evaluation of acquired competencies and skills, developed also according to the following principles: student-centred tool; definition of objectives in terms of learning outcomes, competences and skills to be acquired;
  • overall, by delivering a novel vocational training contribution in the field of "IPR and Licensing management", the project intends to foster innovation among SMEs with a view to favouring growth and competitiveness of the same SMEs.
